Vikan has developed HyGo, a mobile cleaning station designed to combine tool storage and transportation in a single unit.
Maintaining hygiene standards while ensuring cleaning equipment is readily available remains a challenge for many food and beverage manufacturers. Cleaning tools are often stored separately from transport systems, creating inefficiencies when staff need to move equipment between production areas.
Vikan’s HyGo system is intended to help facilities organise cleaning equipment, reduce time spent locating tools and improve access to cleaning resources throughout a site.
The mobile station features a modular design that can be adapted to different operational requirements. Standard tool brackets can accommodate up to five cleaning tools, while additional brackets increase capacity to as many as 12 mounted tools. This flexibility allows operators to adjust the configuration as cleaning requirements change.
HyGo was developed in consultation with food industry professionals, with a focus on addressing common workplace challenges. Its narrow frame is designed to move through tight spaces, while 360 degree wheels assist manoeuvrability around production environments. The unit is also designed to handle obstacles such as drains, door thresholds and other uneven surfaces commonly found in food processing facilities.
The system combines functions that would traditionally require separate pieces of equipment, such as shadow boards for tool organisation and carts for transporting cleaning supplies. By integrating these functions, the unit aims to simplify cleaning operations and reduce equipment requirements.
An optional waste bag holder can also be attached to the station, allowing operators to collect waste while cleaning. The attachment can be used when sweeping floors, emptying dustpans or removing general waste from production areas.
As food manufacturers continue to focus on hygiene, operational efficiency and workplace organisation, mobile cleaning systems such as HyGo offer an alternative approach to managing cleaning equipment and supporting day to day sanitation activities.
