National Foods reviews cheese manufacturing operations

National Foods has announced it is undertaking an extensive review of its cheese manufacturing operations across Australia.

The sites included in the review are Simpson and Campbellfield in Victoria, Jervois and Murray Bridge in South Australia, Kings Meadows, Burnie, King Island and Heidi Farm in Tasmania and Malanda in Queensland.

According to National Foods, the review will consider the long-term viability and sustainability of the company’s sites and will look at innovation, technology and current and future environmental requirements.

The Mercury reported yesterday that the company would not rule out job cuts.

The review is expected to be finalised by the end of this month.
