The International Fresh Produce Association ANZ (IFPA ANZ) appointed David Di Pietro and Ben Reilly to its board of directors on 15 May.

Announced from its new office in East Melbourne, the two leaders—each from distinct sectors of the fresh produce and floral industry—were welcomed during IFPA ANZ’s annual general meeting.

“The IFPA ANZ board reflects the strength and diversity of our industry, with leaders from across the supply chain,” said IFPA ANZ chair Dean Gall.

“David Di Pietro and Ben Reilly bring a wealth of experience and industry leadership to the board, and I look forward to working with them to help guide the association.”

David Di Pietro is the chief executive officer of Lynch Group Australia and a certified practising accountant. He has extensive experience across Australian manufacturing, retail and FMCG sectors, with companies including BHP, Woolworths, George Weston Foods and Breville.

“I’m excited to join the IFPA ANZ board as a representative of the floral category and to support the broader fresh produce industry,” said Di Pietro.

With a global presence, including the operation of a rose-growing farm in China, Lynch Group is one of Australia’s largest flower importers.

“I’m looking forward to building strong connections across the industry and contributing my experience from a supplier and grower’s perspective,” he added.

Fresh produce business manager of Steritech, Ben Reilly, was an early participant in both the IFPA Foundation for Industry Talent and Emerging Leaders programmes. He has also volunteered as a mentor and committee member.

“IFPA is a unique organisation that unites the best of our global industry and welcomes participation from the entire supply chain,” said Reilly.

“IFPA has had a constant presence in my career and I’m honoured to join IFPA ANZ board.”

Di Pietro and Reilly’s appointments take immediate effect.
