Nominations are open for the HACCP Conference Awards

HACCP Conference Award nominations are now open in all four categories.

The Annual HACCP Conference Awards aim to provide the food industry with a vehicle to recognise and reward the achievements of those who work to ensure the safety of our food supply.

Category one; outstanding individual nominated by an agri-food industry company, is intended for any individual employed by a private sector company who has contributed to the status of food safety in Australia. This person may be from any size company and from any sector within the agri-food industry, which has furthered the ideals of a safe food supply.

Category two; outstanding individual working as a registered food safety auditor is open to any individual working for an accredited Certification Body as a Food Safety Auditor. The auditor must be nominated by the Certification Body and have been registered as a food safety auditor with RABQSA, IRCA, SQFI, and/or BRC for at least 3 years. The Certification Body must be accredited by JAS-ANZ (or equivalent Accreditation Body) for food safety management system certification (e.g. ISO 22000:2005) or food product certification (e.g. WQA, BRC and/or SQF). The nominating auditor must provide evidence of their food safety auditing history and 2 referees will be contacted independently to verify suitability and candidacy.

Category three; outstanding company sub-categories: single site company and multi-site company is open to food businesses (within the relevant sub-category) who have successfully implemented one or more food safety management standards incorporating HACCP. To be eligible, the standard(s) must have been audited by a third-party Certification Body accredited by JAS – ANZ for food safety management system certification (e.g. ISO 22000:2005) or food product certification (eg. WQA, BRC and/or SQF), and by a registered auditor(s) operating within their designated industry scope. Nominating food businesses will have received no critical corrective actions within the last two years.

Category four; Ross Peters Memorial Award is for excellence in food safety and remembers and celebrates Ross Peters' outstanding contribution to food safety. The winner will have made a notable contribution to food safety in Australia or New Zealand and display visible passion and commitment to driving food safety impact on the Australian or New Zealand food industry.
