Nominations for the WARR Awards are now open

The Waste and Resource Recovery (WARR) Awards, a collaborative awards program between Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) and Inside Waste, are returning for 2019.

Nominations are now open in nine categories:

  • Outstanding WARR Project: Metro and Regional/Rural
  • Operational Excellence
  • Innovation Award
  • Outstanding Facility Award
  • Young Professional of the Year
  • Woman of Waste Award
  • Community Engagement Success of the Year
  • WARR Workplace of the Year
  • Leader of the Year

To celebrate all nominees and winners, as well as the excellent work that has gone on in the waste industry in 2019, a WARR Awards evening and gala dinner will take place at Sydney’s Maritime Museum on November 14, 2019.

Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) CEO, Gayle Sloan, said WMRR is pleased to be partnering with Inside Waste on the 2019 awards.

“The WARR Awards go a long way in championing the sector’s leaders and innovators, recognising the contribution our essential industry makes to the economy, environment, and community. We saw numerous outstanding finalists last year and we expect this year to be bigger and better.

“The 2019 WARR awards will capture and recognise excellent, contemporary, and leading-edge activities, operations, and personalities in the sector, spread across 10 categories that include outstanding WARR projects and facilities, innovation that has led to a demonstrable circular economy, leader of the year and, building on WMRR’s successful Women of Waste event, the inaugural Woman of Waste award,” Sloan said.

Nominations will close on September 30, so get in quick. A shortlist of finalist for each category will then be announced on October 28 and the winners will be announced on November 14.
