Orora boss wins manufacturing executive award

Nigel Garrard, the CEO and managing director of Orora, won the Manufacturing Executive of the Year award at an event last night.

Garrard was named among four finalists in the category. According to a statement about the event, “through Garrard’s leadership, Orora recently created an app for the team members to share news and interact across state and country borders. This demonstrates the value that the company puts in the voices of its team members.”

The annual Executive of the Year event was held last night at Sydney’s Four Points by Sheraton, Darling Harbour.

The awards, held by CEO Magazine, “recognise the achievements of exceptional individuals rather than companies they work for. Categories honour these individuals across a range of industries and job roles”.

Garrard heads Orora, which demerged from Amcor in late-2013, and announced a full-year profit increase of 28.3 per cent to $16.8 million in August.

The company has 40 factories worldwide, 87 distribution sites and 6,200 employees in seven countries.
