PDG dairy facility in Shepparton opens

The Pactum Dairy Group UHT dairy manufacturing facility in Victoria’s Shepparton officially opens today.

Deputy prime minister Warren Truss and deputy premier of Victoria Peter Ryan will officiate over the opening of the joint venture between Freedom Foods Group and Australian Consolidated Milk.

Managing director of Freedom Foods Group, Rory Macleod said “Australia has a unique advantage in the supply and manufacture of high quality premium agriculture based foods. With increasing demand from markets in China and SE Asia for high quality value-added product, Australia through companies such as Pactum, is well placed to play an important role in this supply chain.”

The $45 million UHT dairy beverage facility will provide long term supply of value-added dairy milk products based on low cost manufacturing assets in UHT packaging formats.

On April 9 2014, in Hainan, China, PDG announced a strategic supply agreement with Bright Dairy of China.  Bright Dairy is one of China's largest dairy producers, with products including fresh milk, yogurt, cheese, powder and yogurt. It sells these under six value-added brands, including Excellence Plus and Momchilovtsi.
