Much loved Melbourne Bakery, Penny for Pound is set to bring some Christmas cheer this year with its limited-edition fruit mince tarts.
Launching December 1, these festive treats are made from Penny for Pound’s famous buttery shortcrust pastry and filled with decadently caramelised, brandy-soaked dried fruits.
A must-have addition to this year’s festive celebrations, these perfectly crafted mince tarts are bursting with the timeless taste of Christmas, featuring a blend of brandy and apple cider-soaked currants, golden raisins, and sultanas combined with caramelised apples, cinnamon, and orange zest.
With every element made completely in-house, the tarts will hit the shelves of Penny for Pound’s three locations, Richmond, Moorabbin, and Camberwell, on December 1.
They will be sold individually and in packs of 6, perfect for yourself or gifting to friends and family.
“The Christmas season holds a special place in our hearts at Penny for Pound and we are immensely proud to have created a batch of fruit mince tarts that captures not only the essence of the holiday but also the richness of Christmas tradition” says Matilda Smith, Penny for Pound co-founder.
Committed to the heartwarming traditions of Christmas, Penny for Pound’s latest batch of tarts embraces the cherished familiarity and nostalgia of the season.
The 2023 fruit mince tarts feature the bakery’s famous shortcrust pastry recipe, the same one it has been using since opening in 2016, and one of the oldest, in trained pastry chef Matilda Smiths’ locked recipe vault.
