PGG Wrightson closes

The Australian real estate and livestock offices of PGG Wrightson will close after two years in operation.

The offices, based at four sites in NSW and Victoria and having employed 39 staff, were used mainly to facilitate NZ investment in the Australian dairy industry.

The company said this week that given market conditions and an adverse outlook, it was no longer viable to keep the offices running.

The decision will no impact on PGG Wrightson Seeds, which will continue to operate in Australia, or the NZ-based livestock business.
