PIRSA Information Day 2025 will see the Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia (PIRSA) offering its services, programs, and initiatives at this year’s South East Field Days.
The event will be sponsored by PIRSA’s AgTech Program to showcase the latest agricultural technology and research with representation from government agencies, milling, grain, engineering, and livestock industries.
There will be 500 exhibitors at the agricultural event over two days, Friday the 21st of March and Saturday the 22nd of March.
The event will be staffed by people who can share information on topics, including, drought management, livestock identification and traceability, animal health, and biosecurity.
These include PIRSA’s drought resilience and recovery team who will share information about resources and support that is available to assist those affected by the current drought conditions.
Additionally, electronic identification (eID) officers will be available to answer questions about tagging and scanning dates, tag discounts and equipment rebates on offer to assist local sheep and goat producers with understanding the new requirements.
PIRSA’s varroa development officers will also be there to discuss monitoring and management options and will assist with general beekeeping enquiries, including registrations.
There will also be:
– Varroa presentation in the AgTech Tent at 11:30am on Saturday.
– Australia’s first flagship biosecurity extension program, Grains Farm Biosecurity Program, which aims to improve preparedness for risks in the grains industry, at farm and industry levels.
– A PIRSA Plant Health Expert.
– PIRSA’s display on the state’s preparedness for Emergency Animal Disease and information on endemic diseases.
– Fisheries and aquaculture staff will answer information about the recent closure of the Southern Zone Abalone Fishery.
The event will also feature tools and information to assist with better on-farm decision making and opportunities for primary producers to connect with suitable AgTech Developers.
