Plantry expands range of plant-based meals

Plantry

Plantry is expanding its product offering with new plant-based meat alternatives including Chicken-Style Burgers, Original Chicken-Style Strips and Lemon & Herb Chicken-Style Strips. It has also introduced Pad See Ew and Teriyaki to its range of ready-made meals.

As the third fastest growing vegan market in the world, 50 per cent of Australian millennials are trying to incorporate plant-based foods into their diet.

“Plantry is committed to making eating plant-based easy and delicious. Our expansion into plant-based meats gives Aussies more opportunities to prepare recipes they know and love while giving a fork about the planet,” Plantry marketing manager Jessica Tahardi said.

The new chicken-style meats come with a four-star health rating. The Original Chicken-Style Strips and Lemon & Herb Chicken-Style Strips are high in protein and a versatile addition to a range of dishes such as chicken wraps, spicy curries or plant-based pesto pasta. Plantry’s Chicken-Style Burger has a southern style crunch and juicy chicken-like texture.

In line with existing Plantry ready-made meals, Pad See Ew and Teriyaki dishes were crafted by a team of chefs. All Plantry meals are vegan friendly, high in protein, freshly made and snap frozen, allowing consumers to enjoy the tastes they love without compromising.

When Australians choose Plantry, they are also helping plant up to 50,000 trees across Australia and New Zealand through a new partnership with One Tree Planted. Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change and together with the One Tree Planted team, Plantry has hand-picked tree planting locations across Australia and New Zealand. These locations include Threatened Species Habitat Restoration in Western Australia and Waingake Native Restoration in New Zealand. To find out more about this, visit plantryfoods.com/sustainability.

“Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, flexitarian, or just love digging into delicious food, plant-based eating is a great way to do good for you and for the planet,” Tahardi said.

“At Plantry, we believe in the awesome power of plants, so we’re thrilled to partner with One Tree Planted to help plant trees across Australia and New Zealand.”

The Plantry plant-based meals range is available in the freezer aisle nationally. The new Plantry Chicken-Style range (RRP $7), Teriyaki and Pad See Ew meals (RRP $8) are available at Woolworths.
