ProPak to showcase largest footprint of International Pavilions in history

When heading to ProPak Asia 2019 then visiting the 22 international pavilions that represent hundreds of world-leading solutions from 14 countries is a must.

According to Justin Pau, general manager of UBM Asia (Thailand), visitors will be have the opportunity to see the latest innovative packaging and processing solutions available from Australia, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK, and USA; all under one roof.

“From a visitor perspective, the International Pavilions provide a unique ability to showcase the technical and innovative capabilities of each country in one zone. All of the exhibitors across the 14 countries are committed to supporting the ASEAN Region with the ability to customise solutions and provide localised sales and service teams, with a growing number opening factories and manufacturing plants here,” Pau said.

“This year visitors will also have the opportunity to see new pavilions from Switzerland, Fooma (Food Machinery Group from Japan) and Shantou (Food Machinery Group from China),” he said.

Italian Pavilion
The Italian Pavilion – hosted by UCIMA, the Association of the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers, and ITA, the Italian Trade Agency – is the largest and fastest growing with a 40-company delegation of exhibitors coming to Thailand in June.

MGian Paolo Crasta, marketing and communication manager, Ucima, added that ‘Ucima offers support to member companies, and in general to all Italian companies, through activities such as technical consultancy, international law, lobbying activities, Business Intelligence, training services, communication to international promotion.’

“The mission of UCIMA is to help and support the growth of Italian companies on an international scale and we are extremely proud that our delegation will  be bringing the latest technologies developed to ProPak Asia 2019 with a strong focus on solutions for food, beverage, cosmetic and end-of-line for the ASEAN Region. We started our pavilion six years ago with 2 exhibitors and 2019 will see 40,” Crasta said.

“Italian packaging companies have recognised that the ASEAN Region is an area of growth as their solutions are world-class, technologically-advanced, innovative and can be tailor-made for the local market. All of the exhibiting companies provide localised support, can tailor-make their solutions to suit the needs of the region and provide local after-sales service and support for all customers.” he said.

Singapore Pavilion
According to Shen Huizhen, manager, international relations, Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME), who hosts the Singapore Pavilion, the purpose of bringing exhibitors to Thailand is showcase Singaporean products and services to the ASEAN and international markets.

“ASME have been exhibiting and leading the Singapore Pavilion since 2012 where we started with 14 companies to today where we bring more than 30 companies to ProPak Asia. We recognised many years ago that ProPak Asia is a must-attend for us as it is a truly ASEAN Regional show. Our exhibitors come back each year to not only support their existing customers in the region but also to meet new businesses and to showcase new innovations and technologies.” Shen Huizhen said.

North America Pavilion
The North America Pavilion – hosted by PMMI – will be showcasing 10 companies including AFA Systems, Squid Ink, EconoCorp, iTRACK- Magnemotion, NIMCO Corp., Paper Machinery Corp., Clayton Solutions, American Extrusion, Green Bay Machinery and PMMI.

“The purpose of the American Pavilion is to showcase North American processing and packaging machinery to the South East Asian market,” said Jorge Izquierdo, VP, market development.

“PMMI have recognised that ProPak Asia is the leading regional trade show that brings in visitors from not only Thailand, but also the wider ASEAN region which enables our exhibitors the opportunity to expand their presence locally. The quality of the attendees is also great,’ Mr Izquierdo said.

Spanish Pavilion
The Spanish Pavilion – hosted by Amec Envasgraf and Alimentec; which is the largest association specialising in industrial manufacturers in Spain – will have 8 companies in their zone. Companies include Effytec, Tavil, Ulma, Tecaire, Mespack, Invpack, Patper and Prodec.

MMarc Bertran, International promotion – Services division, Amec, added that ‘Spanish companies exhibit at ProPak Asia to provide increased visibility and sales opportunities in the region.’

“The Spanish Pavilion has grown over the last 5 years and Amec Envasgraf and Alimentec companies stand out for their tailor-made solutions, close relationships with customers and high-quality solutions designed for the food processing and packaging industry.” Mr Bertan said.

Bavaria Pavilion
The Bavaria Pavilion, which has been exhibiting at ProPak Asia for nine years, has also grown the number of exhibitors this year and is designed to showcase a variety of Bavarian companies that all settled down in the south of Germany.

Hosted by Bayern International GmbH – The Bavarian Bureau for International Business Relations offers a trade fair participation program by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs for Bavarian SMEs that provides the opportunity to present themselves within the Bavarian joint booth. The VDMA, a network that includes over 450 member companies in mechanical engineering, will also be participating in the show.

Ramona Köhler, Referentin Messen, Bayern International GmbH mentioned that, “they will have 14 exhibitors in the Bavarian Pavilion in 2019”.

“The Bavarian exhibitors will be showcasing different mechanical engineering and manufacturing tools and devices, electric automation and drive systems, mechanical seals, machine and plant engineering, product and package coding and marking, laboratory manufacturing for sample preparation and particle sizing, manufacturing and engineering for processing and packaging plants for food, plastics processing, laser technology systems, security printing solutions, metal detection, x-ray and magnet systems and film production,” Köhler said.

“The Bavarian Trade Fair Participation Program is an important export promotion instrument for companies in our region. It facilitates the tapping of new markets abroad and surveys show that 10 per cent of our exhibitors are participating for the first time in a trade fair abroad. 80 per cent of our exhibitors would not have been able to participate at ProPak Asia without the trade fair participation program.” she said.

United Kingdom Pavilion
The United Kingdom Pavilion, hosted by PPMA Group of Companies, will be back for the 12th consecutive year and will be showcasing processing and packaging machinery and vision and robotics solutions from Durham Duplex, Jacob White Packaging, DC Norris & Company and Marcote UK Ltd.

David Harrison, group exhibition manager, PPMA Group of Associations, added that ‘PPMA, incorporating British Automation and Robot Association (BARA) and UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA), is the national trade association for manufacturers and suppliers of processing and packaging machinery and represents over 500 member companies.’

To be held from the 12 to 15th of June in Bangkok, Thailand, ProPak Asia has been serving the ASEAN Region for 27 years and is the regional hub for connecting packaging and processing manufacturers and suppliers. The organisers anticipate that ProPak Asia 2019 will showcase over 20,000 products and solutions across 1900 exhibitors from 50 countries within 9 zones over 4 days.
