Public Demand Increases for White House Beer Recipes

President Obama has frequently been seen sipping on White House home brew during the current election campaign, and now the public wants a taste of the Presidential ale.

In a rather ingenious, if somewhat cheeky, move, an American beer-lover has made a request under US Freedom of Information laws for the White House to disclose the recipe.

“You can’t get it if you don’t ask” the man said, though he concedes that his chances are slim because it’s likely “the brewmaster is doing it out of his head or personal notes or some other non-requestable method.”

The White House home brew and the President’s predilection for a cold ale has earned him many admirers on the campaign trail.

Appearing at the Iowa State Fair, he shouted a round of beers to a group of coffee shop patrons, “except the guy with the Romney sign”, and last week he was spotted sampling one of three honey ales, which use honey from First Lady Michelle’s garden.

A petition on the White House website also requests the recipes, however it only has 275 signatures currently, a long way from the 25,000 it needs in order to be reviewed.

The petition pleads, "In keeping with the brewing traditions of the founding fathers, homebrewers across America call on the Obama administration to release the recipe for the White House home brew so that it may be enjoyed by all."
