Quenching a thirst for knowledge

Coca-Cola South Pacific is hosting a beverage nutrition symposium in February.

The 2009 Beverage Nutrition Symposium, “A Thirst for Knowledge — the Opportunities and Challenges for Drinks” aims to share the latest research on the role of beverages in the Australian diet, address issues and challenges facing the industry and explore consumer trends and future directions in beverage innovation.

Keynote international and local speakers who are experts in beverage nutrition, consumer research and sustainability, will share their latest research and insights, including:

  • Dr France Bellisle, PhD, Research Director, Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) (Paris, France);
  • Julian Mellentin, Executive Director, New Nutrition Business and market researcher (NZ); and
  • Professor Garry Egger, MPH PhD Adjunct Professor of Health Sciences at Deakin University, Lismore Centre for Health Promotion & Research, Sydney.

The Symposium will be chaired by Professor Linda Tapsell PhD FDAA from the University of Wollongong Smart Foods Centre.

The symposium will include an expert panel discussion, providing participants the opportunity to bring their questions to the experts.

The 2009 Beverage Nutrition Symposium is being held on Tuesday February 10 from 9am to 4pm at The Theatre, Tasman Light & Deck National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour, Sydney.
