The RPU 120+ is a purpose built electronic temperature recorder designed to monitor tunnel pasteurisation processes.
The RPU 120+ covers the same temperature range as its predecessor, while offering improved accuracy and extended recording time. Using the same third generation technology as the RPU 352, the RPU 120+ provides a high level of measurement accuracy and is built to Redpost’s established standards of durability.
The RPU 120+ is a purpose built electronic temperature recorder designed to monitor tunnel pasteurisation processes. The instrument travels through the pasteuriser with the product and automatically calculates the achieved PU value, along with a range of other operating results.
Standard calculations include total PUs achieved, time accumulating PUs, time in the holding zone and maximum temperature. The temperature sensor reading is displayed continuously, allowing the unit to also be used as a thermometer.
The latest generation of Redpost monitors also calculates the product temperature as it exits the pasteuriser, helping operators assess process performance and reduce the risk of spoilage. The exit temperature is displayed alongside other recorded results.
Results are shown directly on the instrument, enabling immediate verification of pasteurisation performance. The display can also present graphs and recorded data lists before information is printed or transferred.
The RPU 120+ is compatible with Redpost’s RPC 80 and RPC 50 printer chargers, allowing reports to be printed or data transferred to a computer for storage and further analysis. The unit is also backwards compatible with the RPC 40, RPC 42 and RPC 44, enabling integration with existing equipment without requiring a new printer charger.
The controls are straightforward and the display provides operating prompts and results in a choice of languages. Many functions can be configured to suit specific requirements, while settings are protected to prevent accidental changes by operators.
Calibration records can be stored within the instrument to assist with ISO 9000 documentation requirements. A service reminder function notifies operators when servicing should be considered.
Redpost PU recorders are available with a range of temperature probes for bottles and cans, spray water temperature probes, mounting frames and test plugs for on site calibration checks. Instruments and probes are calibrated during manufacture against standards traceable to UK national standards.
