A pharmaceutical factory in Queensland faced a challenge – its aging vinyl flooring had become cracked and worn, posing risks to hygiene and safety. The company needed to replace the flooring – one that not only would stand up to rigorous cleaning but also meet the industry’s safety requirements. It also wanted it in a vibrant blue shade. Enter Fosroc.
HAG Industrial Coatings, a company that specialises in such flooring has experience using Fosroc products. It knew what was needed – Nitoflor FC150 HPSL, a high-performance heavy-duty epoxy coating. To further guarantee a smooth and successful installation, the team collaborated closely with Fosroc’s specialists.

A Step-by-Step Approach
The project, covering over 1000 square meters, followed a meticulous process to ensure an impeccable finish:
- Surface Preparation – The old vinyl flooring was removed, and the concrete surface was cleaned and ground.
- Priming – A layer of Nitomortar 903 was applied.
- Self-Leveling Application – Nitoflor FC150 HPSL was mixed and poured, then leveled to create a seamless and smooth finish.
- Roll Coat Application – In designated wet areas, an additional coat of Nitoflor FC150 HPSL mixed with anti-slip grains was applied for extra traction and safety.
The project took two weeks, benefiting from the fast drying time of Nitoflor FC150 HPSL.
Beyond the main flooring upgrade, additional improvements were made to ensure a fully optimised space. Coving was installed using Nitomortar 903, ensuring a clean junction between floors and walls, while corroded aluminium wall dividers were treated with Dulux Durebild STE.
