The Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Awards 2024 continues to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the Australian manufacturing sector.
The evening featured several awards, allowing attendees to learn more about the individuals and companies that drive Australian manufacturing. The event’s success was made possible by sponsors including Weld Australia, Bestech Australia, SEW-EURODRIVE, and BlueRock, who helped support the country’s premier manufacturing awards program.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ award, which was presented to data solutions developer MEQ. In addition to the top award, MEQ also won the ‘Technology Application’ award for its MEQ Live solution, which provides real-time data for feedlots and producers.
“We were a startup that was the genesis of a couple of PhD programs,” said Jordan Yeomans, chief technical officer at MEQ.
“And since then, we’ve built our team from one person to 35 people. We’ve got two of my colleagues here, Thomas and Ray, so very proud to have them here with us today as well. Thank you all.”
The ‘Leader of the Year’ award went to Geoff Crittenden, CEO of Weld Australia, in recognition of his pioneering work in the sector.
“When I was 19, I joined the Royal Military Academy,” said Crittenden.
“Over the last 50 years, I’ve learned one crucial lesson: it’s not about you; it’s about the people who work with you. I want to take this opportunity to thank my team at Weld Australia. They are absolutely fantastic, and without them, leadership means nothing.”
AMIGA Engineering received the ‘Most Innovative Manufacturing Company’ award, acknowledging the company’s ongoing efforts in advanced manufacturing.
“It’s been amazing to be recognised for innovation over the past few years,” said Michael Bourchier, managing director at AMIGA Engineering.
“This achievement is truly a result of the incredible efforts of our team, who consistently bring creativity and innovative thinking to our business. They continue to come up with remarkable ideas that drive us forward.”
Lindo Tube, a germicidal light manufacturer, won the ‘Outstanding Start-Up’ award.
“If my wife was here not looking after my wonderful children, I could thank her enough,” said Robert Gangi, Founder and Director at Lindo Tube. “She’s been an amazing, great support. So, thank you everybody. I’m really excited.”
The ‘Project of the Year’ award was given to CST Composites for its “Towpreg” masts, which were used in nearly half the boats at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Nominees for the awards were evaluated by a panel of industry experts, including established figures from the production sector and associations such as CSIRO.
The Endeavour Awards 2024 highlighted the ongoing innovation, growth, and success within Australian manufacturing.
