With less than five months to go, Melbourne International Coffee Expo 2026 is preparing to bring the industry together, connecting experts and enthusiasts under one roof.
The early bird gets the worm. While worms are not the best incentive, a good cup of coffee certainly is. With exhibitor spots filling fast, the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) returns from 26 to 28 March 2026, giving coffee lovers and industry professionals the chance to connect, explore innovations and celebrate the culture of coffee.
MICE brings the industry together to brew, taste and share ideas. Last year, the event attracted more than 31,000 visitors to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. 134 exhibitors showcased products, expertise and innovations across the sector.
A standout of MICE 2025 was the Roasters Playground, featuring Australia’s top roasters offering tastings, competitions and coffee conversations. Visitors gathered daily to sample different coffees, participate in interactive sessions and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Developed by an advisory committee including La Marzocco, San Remo, Service Sphere, Single O, Bombora, ST. ALi, Riverina Fresh and Veneziano Coffee Roasters, the Roasters Playground encouraged meaningful connections between professionals and consumers. Its success confirmed its return for 2026, with plans to expand with support from La Marzocco and Riverina Fresh.
“It was by far the busiest area of the show floor – the coffee was flowing, and the vibes were high,” said Siobhan Rocks, general manager Events at Prime Creative Media.
Education remains a core focus. MICE 2025 explored topics from menu trends, creative workflows and traceability to sustainability, cost management and supply chain challenges. Panels led by industry experts prepared attendees to tackle real-world problems while identifying growth opportunities.
Sustainability was also a key theme, particularly in coffee packaging. Exhibitors and attendees discussed ways to reduce environmental waste, including compostable, biodegradable or recyclable cups and lids. In-depth conversations encouraged long-term thinking, helping the coffee sector support broader sustainable practices in the beverage industry.
MICE serves as a hub for coffee lovers, experts and innovators alike. The 2025 event showed how industry collaboration delivers both commercial outcomes and cultural impact, creating an environment where ideas are shared, trends are set and the future of coffee is shaped. From small specialty businesses to large equipment suppliers, the Expo combines product displays, hands-on experiences, educational sessions and networking opportunities.
Organisers expect MICE 2026 to build on last year’s success, with a vibrant show floor, networking events and late-night sessions. Visitors can taste new blends, explore technology innovations and forge business relationships, celebrating coffee in all its forms while shaping the industry’s future.
