SunRice upgrades its staple microwaved rice pouches

SunRice

Australian rice brand SunRice has enhanced its classic microwave pouch range via a $4.5 million upgrade to its Leeton facility, delivering a higher quality offering to Australians.

SunRice’s commitment to continuously improve the consumer eating experience has influenced this, especially in the cooler months when rice becomes a staple ingredient in many Australian kitchens.

The microwave pouches will now undergo an improved manufacturing process, incorporating a new technique to deliver a more superior and higher quality rice than before, while also reducing energy and water usage.

“As the leader in the convenience rice category, we know Aussies already love the SunRice microwave rice pouches,” SunRice head of marketing Andrew Jeffrey said.

“SunRice continuously reviews opportunities to improve our much-loved products, and the new production technique for our microwave pouches will impart a finer eating experience of softer, fluffier and tastier rice for all rice lovers than we have ever provided – endorsed through consumer testing and research.”

With a new and modern formula, the SunRice microwave portfolio has also been given a fresh look to their packaging design, to reflect the updated product.

The improved SunRice range is available now in Brown Rice, Brown and Quinoa, Basmati, Jasmine and Long Grain 250g and 450g pouches at Coles, Woolworths and independent supermarkets nationwide.

The sleek new packaging design also extends to the brand’s standard microwave cups and SuperGrains microwave cups, which have been renamed to easily identify the variants within the range. This includes SunRice Brown Rice and Multigrains, SunRice Brown Rice, Red Rice and Quinoa, SunRice Brown Rice and Ancient Grains and SunRice Brown Rice and Purple Rice.
