Premier and minister for Trade and Major Investment, Jeremy Rockliff, said supporting emerging exporters to grow their exports was a key part of the Government’s plan to grow export trade to $15 billion by 2050.
“We know that attending trade events and trade shows generates significant benefits for Tasmanian businesses, and showcases Tasmania’s world-class produce to new markets,” said Rockliff.
“Part of our Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019-2025 includes building Tasmania’s export capability.
For four of the Tasmanian businesses it was their first time attending a business-to-business trade show.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future we are taking Tasmanian products to the world and growing our export markets,” said Rockliff.
“Visitors to the TASMANIAN stand got a taste of iconic Tasmanian products such as spirits, fresh oysters, cold-smoked bacon and artisan cheese.
“This event provides a fantastic opportunity for exporters and emerging exporters to connect with both national and international buyers, expand their market reach and ink new contracts.”
The Fine Food show was held from September 2 to 5.
