The Arnott’s Group appoints new CPO

The Arnott’s Group (Arnott’s) has announced the appointment of Alison Merner as chief people officer. In the role, Alison will lead the company’s People & Culture strategy across Australia and the Asia Pacific, focusing on building capability, strengthening culture, and supporting the Group’s growth ambitions.

Merner joins Arnott’s from Endeavour Group and formerly Woolworths Group, bringing extensive experience in People & Culture.

“With her strong commercial insights, strategic people leadership and inclusive approach, I’m confident Alison will play a pivotal role in elevating our business through the delivery of a high-impact People & Culture function,” said Arnott’s CEO George Zoghbi .

Alison’s appointment comes as part of broader leadership changes designed to support the company’s strategic priorities:

  • Michelle Foley, former chief customer officer, has moved into the role of managing director, Snacking ANZ, leading a centralised business unit focused on growing Arnott’s presence in the biscuits and nutritious snacking categories in Australia.
  • Jenni Dill, previously chief marketing officer, has been appointed chief growth officer, responsible for marketing and strategy across Tim Tam, Shapes and Mother Earth in domestic and international markets, as well as Innovation, R&D and Sustainability.
  • Matthew Palmer, previously chief transformation officer, is now managing director, Snacking International, overseeing Arnott’s expansion into key export markets. Matt is also responsible for the company’s Indonesian biscuit factory.
