The Australian Brewery is looking to expand into the global export market after successful negotiations to supply to its award winning craft beer to India.
The brewer secured two distribution deals in the country after Austrade India invited the brewer to supply its product at an Australian Craft Beer promotion in Dehli.
At present , Fosters is the only Australian beer available in India, and the Australian Brewery will mark the first Australian craft beer to enter the Indian market
Australian Brewery’s Ambassador, David Ward said that thriving levels of beer consumption coupled with the sub-continent’s rising middle class represents a prime opportunity for brewer.
“The big local brands such as Kingfisher are launching premium variations to their existing product for the burgeoning middle and upper class,” Ward explained. “We aren’t the only ones to look at this market – Nail Brewing sent over their Pale Ale and Stout while Coopers sent their Pale Ale.”
“While the response was positive with all our beers, the Pale Ale was the most popular. The distinctive passionfruit and mango aroma, and flavour of galaxy hops gelled really well with the Indian pallet.”
