The Stones roll out 50th anniversary wine

British Rock n Roll veterans, The Rolling Stones have teamed up with liquor giant Dan Murphy’s and South Australian winery, Warburn Estate to release a limited edition, 50th Anniversary McLaren Vale shiraz prior to the band's tour of Australia.

The release of the Rolling Stones drop follows the success of the AC/DC label which was launched in 2011. Campbell Scott, national merchandise manager for Dan Murphy’s believes that the Stones’ wine will enjoy a similar level of success as the AD/DC release.

“I think we have always had the connection with music and wine and a few years ago that was reflected when we launched our AC/DC label and we had really good interest for it,” Scott told The Telegraph.

“It allows fans to hold onto a bit of Nostalgia with the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones we wanted to produce a great wine from a great year. There are only going to be 7000 six packs of the wine produced so I have no doubts it is going to become a collector’s item.”

Francis Fusca executive director, sales and marketing at Warburn Estate has no doubt that fans of the Rolling Stones will be fans of the wine.

“Lovers of The Rolling Stones will appreciate this exclusive wine,” he said.

“Like the band, it’s punchy, bold and leaves an impression fans won’t soon forget.”
