Thorogood’s to sell cider company

After 20 years in the cider business, Tony Thorogood and his wife Susan have decided to call it a day and have put their Thorogoods cider business up for sale.

Thorgoods Fine Apple Wines is located in the South Australian mid north town of Burra. Tony Thorogood started the company using apples from his own 100 acre orchard back in the early 90s, and has grown the business into one of the state’s most loved cider brands.

Thorogood told ABC Rural that although he is sad to leave the business, he is looking forward to his next adventure.

"It happens to all of us unfortunately , we start to get a bit older and then you look at yourself and you realise you can't keep it up forever and rather than have nature come along and say 'you're leaving now', it's best to do a bit of planning and make a decision where you need to move into a different life."
