Western Australia’s food and beverages have been showcased to international buyers as part of the Taste WA 2025 trade mission delivered by the WA government.
More than 20 international buyers toured Perth, the South West and Great Southern over the past week to learn more about WA’s food and beverage producers.
Delegates from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Taiwan took part in the six-day program, engaging with more than 90 WA agribusinesses. They sampled local products and gained insight into provenance and production processes.
The itinerary included experiences across seafood, horticulture, lamb, beef, wagyu, truffles and abalone, along with paddock-to-plate dining showcasing WA produce.
The delegation also attended WA’s largest food and beverage industry trade event, Meet the Buyer, in Perth, where they met producers from across the State.
“We know previous Taste WA missions have facilitated hundreds of business connections and contributed to millions of dollars in export growth, which is a testament to the quality and appeal of WA produce,” said agriculture and food minister Jackie Jarvis.
“We’re proud to back this initiative and connect our producers with global markets to strengthen our reputation as a source of premium, sustainable and delicious food.”
The mission was delivered through the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, in collaboration with Austrade TradeStart partners from the Great Southern Development Commission, South West Development Commission and Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, supported by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification.
Earlier Taste WA missions have helped strengthen Western Australia’s reputation for quality produce, with beef, chicken and dairy now reaching several international markets, and wines exported to the United Kingdom, Thailand and Singapore. Targeted in-market activations have also showcased the State’s value-added products.
“Taste WA allows international buyers to immerse themselves in some of the world’s most pristine food production environments and understand what makes WA food and beverages so special,” said regional development minister Stephen Dawson.
“It’s a program that is designed to showcase not only our products but also the people and places behind them.”
