Interworld Electronics has released the ViTAM-921D from Aplex Technology. The ViTAM-921D is a 21.5” (1920 x 1080) IP66/69K sealed food-grade stainless steel Panel PC solution.
The ViTAM-921D combines a range of rugged, hygienic features, along with essential processing and connectivity features.
These features make it ideal for a wide variety of applications within the food & beverage industry, where ruggedness, hygiene and sanitation are an essential requirement. The 304 or optional 316 stainless steel enclosure of the ViTAM-921D provides anti-corrosion, anti-bacterial, and anti-oxidation protection, which greatly reduces the risk of food or beverage products becoming contaminated. It is also completely IP66/69K rated (all 6 sides), which provides protection against the ingress of food particles/waste as well as any liquids from food or beverages.
It has also been specially designed with smooth, seamless construction that helps to prevent bacteria/contaminants from harbouring on the chassis, further helping to prevent any hygiene issues. The overall construction of the ViTAM-921D also makes it easy to clean, even with cleaning chemicals and/or powerful water jets, and ensures reliable operation for years to come.
The ViTAM-921D features a 12th/13th Gen. Intel Core i3/i5 processor, and supports up to 64GB DDR4 SoDIMM memory. It also features 2 x USB2.0, 1 x RS-232/422/485 COM and 1 x LAN ports via waterproof M12 connectors.
It also has two additional configurable ports via M12 connectors, allowing the addition of an extra USB, LAN or COM port. Expansion options include 5G, WiFi and Bluetooth, along with the option to add an RFID module to the front of the system.
The ViTAM-921D has a 21.5” TFT-LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also supports resistive touch, ideal for use with gloves, often crucial for maintaining sterile environments or in areas where the display may be covered in liquids, or food waste, or projected capacitive touch, a more rugged option with anti-scratch protection.
Optional high brightness features also help to make the screen visible in increased sunlight areas, making it ideal for a range of applications and environments, including outdoors.
Along with its stainless steel construction and IP rating, the ViTAM-921D has also been designed with a number of other rugged features, including fanless operation, a wide operating temperature range (0~50°C), and a wide power input (DC 9~36V).
It also supports Windows 10/11 and Linux and features the ability to easily turn off touch functionality so as to easily clean the system without shutting down. The ViTAM-921D also features a range of versatile mounting solutions including, floor stands, swing arms, Yoke mounts, and VESA mounts, making it suitable for most environments.
