WA brewery Beerfarm taps former Stone & Wood sales lead

Independent craft brewery in Western Australian, Beerfarm, has appointed Viren Goundrie as Head of Sales.

Viren most recently led sales for Cape Byron Distillery for the past year and prior to that held multiple sales roles at Stone & Wood between 2012-2023, most recently as National Sales Manager.

During that time, he helped grow the Stone & Wood business until it was bought by Lion for the largest reported sum of any independent brewery in Australia.

He is also a certified cicerone and sommelier.

The news coincides with Beerfarm’s May acquisition of Feral Brewing’s Bassendean production facilities which is set to enable the business to more than triple its production capacity over the next five years.

From its original Metricup, Western Australian roots Beerfarm has an ambition to expand its product footprint nationally and internationally.

Beerfarm will leverage Viren’s national beer experience to ensure its growing supply capacity meets the volume expectations of Australia’s larger retail liquor distributors.

Beerfarm, Founder and Director, Ian Atkins said the brewery is excited to have a seasoned professional onboard.

“Along with several other recent appointments, it shows that Beerfarm is attracting national talent from across the beverage industry. We’re aiming for growth and people are wanting to be a part of that story.

“We have always brewed great beer and now we can deliver more of it! As part of our national expansion, we’re focused on fully cracking the national liquor distributors and Viren’s industry knowledge, experience, and strong connections will help us get there,” said Atkins.

The brewery has most recently been awarded “Gold” for their IPL and IPA at the 2004 AIBAs and  “2024 WA Beer Of the Year” by the WA Good Food Guide for their IPL and Royal Haze ranking #14 in GABS 2024.
