WA food and beverage excellence recognised at Awards

WA industry success was celebrated at the 2nd FIA Westpac Food and Beverage Industry Awards last week with one of the State’s youngest dairy companies, Challenge Australian Dairy, taking out top honours.

Over 450 WA companies and guests involved in food and beverage manufacturing, marketing, distribution and retailing celebrated this year’s outstanding industry achievements in 8 distinct categories at the Food Industry Australia (FIA) WA gala event on Friday September 4th.

Other winners included:

• Harvest Fresh Cuts – who won the The Best Retail Product category for their ready-to-heat baby potatoes with parsley and butter

• The Chia Company – took out the Innovation prize for establishing the Chia seed industry in WA

• The Village Kitchen, a family-owned Perth business, won the Best Food Service Category

• Alba Edible Oils, won The Environment and Sustainability category for the company’s focus on sustainability and commitment to better environmental practices

• Wr Carpenter, took out the Export category for their achievements in exporting Wagyu beef to markets in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore

• Tsw Analytical, was awarded the Best Service to Industry Category, recognised for their contribution to the WA pork industry in achieving full traceability

• IGA, The Independent Grocer Association who won the Best Marketing Campaign award for their WA growers and producers campaign – which supported local WA growers and food manufacturers.
