Weet-Bix reimagined by Aussie MasterChef alumni

Aussie breakfast staple Sanitarium Weet-Bix has been given a makeover thanks to MasterChef alumni and proclaimed ‘dessert king’ Reynold Poernomo.

“I have always wanted to be different and really provoke people’s concept of desserts. I love pushing their palates. What better way to do that than by reimagining the humble Weet-Bix into a healthier dessert-inspired dish that can be enjoyed either at or away from the breakfast table,” said Reynold Poernomo, co-owner of KOI Dessert Bar.

Reynold’s latest creation is called Weet-Bix Berrymisu – a dessert-inspired concoction of traditional breakfast ingredients including honey, So Good Almond Milk, yoghurt, fresh fruits and, of course, Weet-Bix.

“We always ask ‘how do you do yours?’ when it comes to Weet-Bix and Reynold was all too happy to lend his world- renowned dessert making creativity to answering this question,” said Weet-Bix senior brand manager, Sarah Smyth.

“One of Australia’s most iconic and loved breakfast cereals, Weet-Bix is an easy and nutritious way to pack 97 per cent wholegrain goodness, fibre, iron, vitamins B1, B2, & B3 into your daily diet.”

The Weet-Bix Berrymisu incorporates the techniques displayed across hundreds of creations seen at Poernomo’s dessert bar, KOI.

“My Weet-Bix Berrymisu recipe aims to not only be delicious, but also be an excellent source of fibre, and high in calcium, iron and protein. Weet-Bix is so versatile,” said  Poernomo.

The recipe will be made available to the lucky winners of a place in Reynold’s online masterclass.

To enter, simply head to www.weetbix.com.au/reynoldmasterclass and complete the entry form details.

Entries close 10:00am, Wednesday 28 August 2024 and the competition is open to Australian residents aged 18+.
