Yummia scooped up as finalist at World Dairy Innovation Awards

At the recent World Dairy Innovation Awards in Amsterdam, Yummia’s Vegetable Yoghurt was named as a finalist in the top three for the 'Best Yoghurt' category for 2015.

Containing both fruit and vegetables and described as a ‘layered yoghurt’, Yummia’s Vegetable yoghurt contains a milk-based yoghurt along with fresh fruit and vegetables.

The yoghurt range is aimed at customers who want to ‘grab and go’ with a spoon and was designed by Yummia’s founder Mia McCarthy who several years ago created a ‘grab-and-go’ bircher muesli range in her parents kitchen when she was a 22 year old university student.

According to McCarthy, being named as a finalist and a top three global yoghurt at the awards was “really exciting and a great opportunity to get the Yummia name out onto the world stage.”

Since 2007, the World Dairy Innovation Awards have been held at the Global Dairy Congress and are designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across every category of the global dairy industry.

The awards categories range from products including Best cheese and Best yogurt, to Best dairy drink and Best functional dairy product; plus categories for brands; ingredients; packaging; design; manufacturing and processing; sustainability; and marketing and communications.
